How much does a family session cost, and what is included?

My full-length family sessions cost $950 on weekdays and $1150 on weekends. Returning clients get a $100 discount off of full-length sessions. This pricing includes an hour of photography, plus wiggle room in case of meltdowns, blow-outs, snack breaks, or other understandable pauses when working with children. I photograph quickly, and it’s often beneficial to dive right in before moods potentially head in another direction. For baby photos, please feel free to feed or comfort your baby, put them to sleep, or tend to any other day-to-day needs — I can capture these moments on camera or take a break, depending on your preference.

What comes with a typical family session?

Besides photography, sessions include travel within 20 miles of my home in El Sobrante. A $50 flat travel fee may be added for further away sessions. The session also includes an extensive gallery full of favorite images, no further purchase required. Final images are edited for tone & lighting but don’t include detailed retouching work.

Where should we take photos?

I always love (love!) taking photos in and around your home. Even if it feels messy or un-photogenic, your home really allows everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed, and we can capture your day-to-day life. Plus, unlimited snacks and outfits! I am also happy to explore your favorite outdoor location and showcase some of the beautiful Bay Area in our photos.

Do you ever offer mini sessions?

Want to get together with some friends and book a mini session day? If 3 or more families participate I will book consecutive mini-sessions any time of the year. The cost is $450 per family for roughly 20 minutes of photos and lots of edited files.

Otherwise, mini sessions are offered a few weekends per year, typically in the East Bay in the late summer and early fall. Make sure you’re on my mailing list (see below) if you want to be notified when slots are opened up. There are a limited number, and I don’t often add more dates once the slots are full.

What about weddings?

Weddings start at $2500 for two hours of coverage. This includes tons of lightly edited files in a beautiful online gallery. Two hours is the minimum booking and it’s fully scalable from there.
